Kewota conference launch

Here is what you need to know

The Kenya Women Teachers Association (KEWOTA) is a member-based welfare organization that enhances the living standards of women in the teaching profession by providing avenues for professional, economic, and personal development. Currently, the association has a membership of over 80,000 female teachers across the country, working in secondary schools, primary schools, private, tertiary, and ECDE. KEWOTA’s network is spread across 47 counties.

KEWOTA, in pursuit of its core mandate, has supported thousands of female teachers and young girls, coordinated major change-driven programs, and partnered with industry leaders locally and internationally.

Every year, KEWOTA organizes a national conference and AGM. During these conferences, KEWOTA brings together dozens of experts to provide KEWOTA delegates with the best experience in terms of mentorship and access to exclusive resources for their financial, professional, and personal development. This event also provides a forum for members to engage in meaningful conversations, therefore, becoming better equipped to drive change in the schools and their careers.

This August, KEWOTA will be holding the 4th AGM since its inception. It will be held in Kisumu, at the Tom Mboya Labour College on the 4th and 5th of August. More than 1000 teachers will be in attendance.

Dozens of stakeholders and partners will be in attendance, to enhance visibility and exposure amongst members as well as offering useful resources that will assist teachers and schools.

For the first time in the country, during the event, KEWOTA will hold a beauty pageant and award ceremony to reward teachers who have actively championed community agendas that develop and promote humanity and protect children.

The conference will be broadcasted live on various media channels and KEWOTA social media platforms.

KEWOTA has become a game changer in the work and lives of teachers. As a teacher and a KEWOTA member I have benefitted a lot in various ways namely but not limited to
    1. The Mwalimu Personal Accident Cover,

The association has also helped me learn more in relation to the program I have been running in helping the less fortunate in literacy and self awareness.
KEWOTA is indeed The Home of all teachers .
