Today, the Kenya Women Teachers Association, in collaboration with Intel Corporation and House of Procurement (HOP), has initiated an impactful training program aimed at empowering teachers to champion the cause of Digital Transformation in Education.
This comprehensive training endeavor seeks to provide educators with the essential skills required for fostering innovation in the education sector. Through this program, teachers will be equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to catalyze the integration of digital technologies into the educational landscape.
The General Manager of Intel Kenya expressed her enthusiasm regarding the partnership, highlighting their prolonged search for the ideal collaborator in this critical initiative. Intel Corporation was particularly impressed by the innovative work carried out by KEWOTA (Kenya Women Teachers Association) and firmly believes that they have finally identified the perfect partner to drive this transformative program over the next two years.
This partnership between KEWOTA, Intel Corporation, and House of Procurement underscores a commitment to elevating the quality of education through digital means, ultimately preparing students and educators for the challenges and opportunities of the digital age. It represents a significant step towards realizing a future where technology plays a pivotal role in shaping the education landscape in Kenya.
This training is part of a digital initiative to equip teachers with digital skills and Laptops that will transform the way education is delivered in Kenya.
A substantial number of KEWOTA members have already benefited from the laptop distribution program, made accessible through a “lipa pole pole” payment plan, enabling participants to acquire laptops for as little as Ksh 2000 per month. This approach not only facilitates the acquisition of digital tools but also ensures affordability for educators, making it a truly inclusive initiative.
Gender equality and female participation in our communities are advancing at a rate that has never been seen before. The number of programs aimed at advancing equality and encouraging women to participate in various industries is increasing on a global scale. By giving women the opportunity to own their technology, the Kenyan Women Teachers Lobby Group has taken the lead in transforming women’s access to digital services and innovation. It has not only offered digital access but also the convenience of use and digital services.
